Athlete Interview Series - Daniel Munyer

April 20, 2019

NFL Offensive Lineman   |   University of Colorado

PMR:  Name 3 things an athlete needs to be successful.

Daniel:  1) Motive; a sense of purpose. 2) great attitude 3) confidence

PMR:  How do you manage adversity or what tools do you use in dealing with adversity?

Daniel:  I try to have a one play mentality. If I mess up or fail on a rep or play, I try to learn from it so I can bounce back stronger. Understand that it’s ok to make a mistake because that’s how you learn.

PMR:  What one skill do you posses that most impacts the teams you've played on?

Daniel:  My ability to listen and adapt. As well as bring others along who need help.

PMR:  When it's all said and done and you move on to be successful in the next phase of your life, how would teammates you respected remember you as a teammate?

Daniel:  They would remember me as a smart and tough blue collar worker who did whatever was asked to make the team successful.

PMR:  What is the greatest, or one of the greatest lessons you've learned through the process?

Daniel:  The wolf on top of the hill is not as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill. Never settle, never be complacent, stay hungry!

PMR:  Is there anything specific you'd like to share with athletes working toward making an Impact at the next level?

Daniel:  Do it for yourself. You don’t owe anyone.

PMR:  Name a coach, teammate, or mentor over the course of your career that has had the biggest impact on you and why?

Daniel:  My high school coach Kevin Rooney. He helped create a strong foundation for me and to develop an attitude that no one will feel sorry for you or your circumstances in life. If you truly want something, you gotta work for it and go get it.

PMR:  In order to continually test yourself physically and mentally you must have a strong "why". What is your "why"?

Daniel:  1) I didn’t come this far just to say I came this far. 2) I enjoy proving people wrong.
